1964 Corvette Roadster

Being offered is a 1964 Corvette Roadster with matching #s 327/300 horsepower engine, with factory 4 speed transmission.  This car was recently purchased from the previous owner who had owned the car since 6/13/1974.  The car has not run in 8 years but did run when put away.  The car has severe frame rot that has been repaired once as can be seen in the pictures but needs serious attention to make this a safely drivable vehicle.  Due to the previous repairs we are unsure what remains of the frame can be repaired it may require a new frame or possibly sectioned which would not be a bad investment on a mid year corvette (The buyer of this car should assume the frame needs to be replaced with the possibility this frame could be repaired).  This would make an excellent father/son project or a winter project that would unlike most restorations result in something worth your time and effort as a result.

Exterior Features:

As can be seen in the pictures the car from a full camera shot appears presentable with only very minor body work required.  The car is currently a brownish/gold color which is not correct but not far from the original Saddle Tan the car was painted at the factory.  The doors do close but pinch at the top due to weak frame.  The paint on the car is fair, the pictures make the paint look a little better than it truly is but it is not terrible.  The convertible top is in good shape other than the rear window which is fogged.  The window pillars on the car appear rust free and are very solid.  The car has rally wheels with decent tires.  The front bumpers are in good shape.  The rear bumpers need to be replated.  The exterior hardware, with the exception of the antenna, are all in tact and in good shape.  Although there are issues with the car, if the frame was taken care of you could drive this car and have a very reasonable mid year cruiser with just some polishing and cleaning of the exterior.

Interior Features:

As can be seen in the pictures with the exception of the drivers side floor carpet the interior of the car is in excellent shape.  The vinyl seat covers are in excellent condition.  The dash is bright and the dash pad is in excellent shape.  The door panels are in excellent condition and all interior hardware appears to be present.  The shifter console is in excellent shape.   The original wood grain steering wheel is in excellent condition.  The driver side carpet needs to be replaced due to damage from a master cylinder leak which was the cause of the vehicle being put away 8 years ago.  The vehicle has an original AM/FM stereo.

Mechanical Features:

Mechanically the car has a numbers matching 327/300 horsepower motor with a 4 speed transmission.  The vehicle was taken out of service 8 years ago due to a leaking master cylinder which has never been repaired.  The previous owner claims the car ran fine at the time it was put away.

Opportunities to find complete mid-year corvettes to restore are becoming more and more difficult as time goes on and this is an opportunity to start with a very desirable 4 speed car with all the pieces present.  If you have any questions regarding the car please feel free to call Tom at (513) 608-8121.
